{"id":1027,"date":"2014-10-04T17:25:29","date_gmt":"2014-10-05T01:25:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bayesianinvestor.com\/blog\/?p=1027"},"modified":"2023-02-12T10:03:30","modified_gmt":"2023-02-12T18:03:30","slug":"noise-cancelling-headphone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bayesianinvestor.com\/blog\/index.php\/2014\/10\/04\/noise-cancelling-headphone\/","title":{"rendered":"Noise Cancelling Headphone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently got Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones.<\/p>\n<p>I had previously tried passive earplugs and headphones that claimed 30 dB noise reduction, and got little value out of them.<\/p>\n<p>The noise cancelling headphones suppress a good deal more train (BART) noise, enough that I&#8217;m now able to read nonfiction while on the train.<\/p>\n<p>It won&#8217;t help with the situations where noise bothers me most (multiple conversations nearby) because it mainly eliminates predictable noises. It makes speech sound more distant without affecting the speech volume a lot.
